Awning-type Exterior Roller Shades

Awning-type Exterior Roller Shades, sometimes also called folding outdoor roller shades or louvered outdoor roller shades (though their core drive differs from that of louvers), are outdoor shading and protective devices that use a swing-arm (linkage) mechanism to extend and retract the shade fabric. They are usually combined with a side guiding system (which may be rails or guide grooves, or sometimes no rails at all, relying solely on the swing arms for constraint). The core principle is to use one or more sets of crossed or parallel swing arms (similar in structure to a canopy frame) to drive the shade fabric during raising and lowering. Through the rotation and extension/folding of the swing arms, the fabric is unfolded from the roller into a flat or slightly arched shading surface, or retracted from the extended state back onto the roller.
